We’re having a yard sale at our home today, tomorrow and Saturday (possibly Sunday too). In addition to our own goods, we have literally hundreds of items donated by friends. There will be clothes of all sizes, Christmas ornaments, plush toys, hand-crafted items, and an assortment of electronics, including a computer monitor. Hopefully, we’ll do well; since we live near a highway, a lot of people should see our signs. Proceeds will help with our bills as well as our son’s college education.
Update, August 2: The sale didn’t open at all on Thursday and was only open for a little while on Friday, due to the high volume of goods to sort, price, and display. It was officially open only on Saturday and Sunday. Sales were less than spectacular (only about $45) but okay considering the short time we were open and the fact that we were competing with the county fair which also ended on Sunday. At any rate, we did better than if we had not held the sale at all.
