Three men survey the damage in their neighborhood at 7:15 Sunday morning on North Palm Street just south of Ravine. “My wife was in the garage,” one of them told me, “when all of a sudden her ears started popping from the change in pressure. Then she said everything went white for a few seconds.
“I had been watching TV in the living room and fell asleep. My son came running in and said, ‘Dad, there’s been a terrible storm outside!’ Then I went out and saw all this damage.”
He also told me that the utility crews were struggling to restore power. They said it could be up to three days before the power is back on in that area.
Power was out at our home from 3:53 p.m. until 8:55 p.m. on Saturday.
