This shot of Wendi and Joe in the pool was taken just before 7 p.m.

After Wendi’s injury, a very nice lady helped her to get the bleeding to stop, using an abandoned motel towel and some Band-Aids. The lady was a guest at the motel, and she was from Louisiana.

The motel management phoned the paramedics, who arrived at 7:49 p.m. They gave her the option of transport to the emergency room, and she refused it. They left at 8:00 p.m.

She got dressed, and I took her to the emergency room at St. Mary’s Hospital, only a few blocks from the motel. We were there from 8:42 until 10:37 p.m.

X-rays revealed no internal damage to the left knee. She was given a tetanus/diphtheria shot. They cleaned up and bandaged her wounds.
