Over the last couple of years, I’ve constructed many homemade TV antennas using aluminum foil, wire, cardboard, glue, and twist ties. I wouldn’t dream of using most of these materials outdoors! But the four antennas you’ll see here get us 12 stations and over 60 channels from Madison, Wisconsin (35 miles away by air) and Rockford, Illinois (27 miles away). A switch is used to receive either Rockford UHF, or Madison UHF along with VHF.
This one sits upstairs and does a great job on the Rockford UHF channels.
