Easy Barbecue Sauce

- 1 cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon vinegar or lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons mustard
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon celery salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper OR chili powder OR ground thyme
Combine all ingredients—it’s ready to use! Use for basting
chicken or spare ribs. Also goes good on hamburgers.

- 1 - 6 oz. can tomato paste
- 1 - can water (use same can)
- 2 tablespoons additional water
- 1 tablespoon vinegar OR lemon or lime juice
- 3 tablespoons mustard (Dijon works well)
- 6 tablespoons golden brown sugar
(or combine white and dark brown sugars)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon ground thyme
Blend all ingredients thoroughly. Sauce is ready to use.
For chicken pieces: bake uncovered at 350 degrees Fahrenheit
for 20 minutes, then cover with sauce and bake one hour longer.
