There was light snow last night, as close as Wisconsin Rapids which is 142 miles away. May snows are not common in our part of the state but not unheard of either. Fifty years ago today, on Sunday, May 8, 1960, there were snow flurries in Janesville during the day. My dad shot home movie footage to prove it!
(Footnote: Summer arrived unofficially on May 23 as heat and humidity poured into our area.)
