Stayed with friend Norlen Meton, who lived in Suamico at the time. Norlen fed us dinner on the barbecue grill Monday and Tuesday nights and also took us out to dinner Sunday and Wednesday nights at Julie’s Cafe in Green Bay.
Monday:
Visited with Isabelle DesJarlais, who was Wendi’s foster mother when
she was about two years old, and her daughter. Isabelle, nearly 89
and with dementia, knew Wendi and even spoke to her; a couple of times
she said, “I love you.”
Photo taken at 12:30 pm Monday, at Nancy’s house.
Tuesday:
Visited Wendi’s sister, Debbie, who was basically chair-bound by now
due to advanced corticobasal degeneration. Also visited another sister,
Patricia Aguilar, with her boyfriend, Antonio.
Stopped at Seroogy’s Chocolates in Ashwaubenon.
Wednesday:
Rain and thunderstorms. Ate lunch at Kroll’s East on Main Street
in Green Bay, then went to the Neville Public Museum, where they
had a new Packers exhibit. The Packer Hall of Fame was under
renovation, so they moved some stuff here and added a few items
never publicly displayed before. We spent an hour in this exhibit,
then viewed the historical stuff that is always there.
At Norlen’s house, I shared 11 of my original songs on the ukulele, which was a lot of fun:
Thursday: came home.
