Tie Rod Fails on Car

Tuesday, February 11, 2014

A tie rod went out on our car. Fortunately we were in town at the time, and not for from home. It was fixed the following Friday.

Joe and Elizabeth Drop In

Sunday, April 20, 2014

On Easter Sunday, Joe and Elizabeth arrived at 5:49 p.m., totally surprising Wendi! They also had a new car, a 2012 Ford Focus. They stayed here for a day or two.

Team Hope Walk

Saturday, August 23, 2014

Wendi, Kayla, and I went to Vilas Park in Madison for the Team Hope Walk for Huntington’s Disease. There were 230 total participants between the walk and the run (see below). The weather was mild but humid. It was hard handling the wheelchair on the hills, especially the long, steep, downhill at the end, which was quite scary! Kayla and I both had to hold on; we even stopped midway down and had Wendi apply the brakes so we could rest.

Team Hope Walk for Huntington’s Disease: 1.65 miles in 35:25 (2.8 mi/hr), 10:11 a.m.
Nice course near Vilas Park in Madison. It was scary pushing the wheelchair down the steep hill toward the end. The distance was longer than the advertised 2K. Still, a good time.

New Vehicle

Tuesday, November 4, 2014

We got rid of our old Pontiac Grand Am (which was failing) and bought a 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan at Cox Cars & Trux in Edgerton, Wisconsin. The dealer paid for a new steering cylinder which was needed.

New Oven

Wednesday, November 19. 2014

We got a “new” used oven; only the stovetop burners worked on the old one. It was ordered on this day, but the delivery and replacement were done on Friday, November 28.
