Well, the new edition of The Oo Kingdom (Version 14) is now online. You will notice (unless you’re using something other than a common, graphical Web browser) that there are not one, but two navigation bars: one on the left side, guarded by a friendly Oo King who doubles as a link to the home page, and another on the right side. The left side is the global navigation, and most of the same links will appear on nearly every page. The right side is local navigation for whatever section you are currently visiting. This works well enough that I decided to skip the “breadcrumb” thing.
Also, a couple of items on the home page are new: the current weather for Janesville, Wisconsin, courtesy of WeatherUnderground.com; and the day of the year and of our marriage, thanks to a new PHP script I wrote.
The pages are wider now (916 pixels to be exact) to accommodate the new design, but this shouldn’t be a problem as few people use anything less than 1024 × 768 pixels screen resolution anymore. And so far, I’ve retained the “classic” page colors, but more choices may be made available later on.
The content additions promised in the last post are still to come; expect them before Thanksgiving. More changes, additions and upgrades may still be in the works.
