Wendi and I are living alone together for the first time since we bought the house… actually for the first time since before Joe was born!
Joe’s close friend, Alex Jeffcoat, moved in with us on June 1, 2007, right before graduation. When Joe left for college in Minnesota this August, Alex stayed at our house, so there were three of us for a while.
Alex planned to move to South Carolina to live with his grandma, but those plans fell through, so he decided to move back in with his mom, who lives only seven blocks away from us. I (Charlie) helped him move the last of his stuff out this morning (another friend helped him move most of it yesterday).
It seems really weird here tonight, just Wendi, me and the four cats. As soon as I finish this post, I am going to play a game of Yahtzee with Wendi; this will be the first time for this in quite a while. In the next few days we’ll clean up the upstairs bedroom (and much of the house) and try to prepare for the next chapter of our lives.
